Javier Zanetti feels that Inter Milan have a hunger to keep winning, and says the Champions League is his ambition.

The Nerazzurri Vice-President spoke to Italian broadcaster DAZN, via FCInterNews, during the team’s Serie A title trophy presentation.

As a player, Zanetti won every trophy available with Inter.

The Argentine captained the Nerazzurri to numerous league titles. He also wore the armband as the Nerazzurri lifted the Champions League trophy to complete the European Treble in 2010.

As Inter Vice-President, Zanetti has also helped win numerous trophies.

These include this season’s Serie A title. That is the second that Zanetti has won in his current role.

And Inter also reached last season’s Champions League final.

But to date, the Nerazzurri have not won Europe’s biggest club competition with Zanetti working behind the scenes, as they had done while he was a player.

Javier Zanetti: “Inter Want To Keep Winning, Champions League The Dream”

Speaking during the Nerazzurri’s trophy presentation after this evening’s match against Lazio, Zanetti said that “The team deserves to be on this path.”

“They’ve written one of the most important pages in Inter’s history,” the Vice-President went on.

“This group of guys deserves it.”

“We’ve become one with our wonderful fans,” Zanetti added.

“The personal qualities were fundamental. They made the difference.”

Zanetti hailed the players’ “Great sense of belong, both on and off the pitch. That’s not easy to find.”

Regarding the future, the Inter Vice-President said that “First of all, we have to thank Steven [-exasperated-oaktree-legal-threats/, Inter President] and the Suning group for everything they’ve done and are doing.”

“They deserve this league title. They wanted it and have built up this path little by little.”

“I hope that the future of this club is always positive,” Zanetti added. “We want to keep winning.”

“The Champions League would be my dream,” added the Vice-President.

“I hope for it for all the guys, who’d deserve it.”
